Non-Degree Seeking Students

Sometimes, you may want to gain additional knowledge or skills but you aren’t ready to commit to a full degree or certificate program. Enrolling as a visiting student or as a guest student are two options for non-degree seeking students who want to continue their education at WSU-Rochester.

Additionally, the Adult and Continuing Education department offers programs, workshops and other training solutions to help you achieve your career goals.

Minnesota State Visiting Students

If you are formally admitted to another Minnesota State institution but you are taking courses at WSU-Rochester, you are considered a visiting student. Visiting students should use their home school online registration portal to register for WSU courses.

Visiting students must contact the Financial Aid office at their home school regarding consortium agreements and financial aid eligibility. WSU awards financial aid only to students who have been formally admitted to a WSU-approved program.

Guest Student

You are considered a guest student if you are not formally admitted to a WSU degree, licensure or certificate program. This status is only valid for one semester, and the form must be completed for each additional term. Financial aid is not available for guest students. You are responsible for adhering to all WSU deadlines, policies and procedures as a guest student.

Contact WSU School of Graduate Studies at 507.457.5038 to register as a guest student for graduate-level courses.

To enroll in undergraduate courses, you must complete the Undergraduate Guest Student Registration form (PDF) and submit it to WSU-Rochester Student and Campus Services in SS128.
