On March 27, learn about U.S. policies that have systemically marginalized First Nations people with a presentation by Tracy Littlejohn.
Tracy is a member of the Ho-Chuck Nation and has lived in La Crosse, WI, most of her life. Tracy has worked in several programs for the Nation, including Office of the President, Education, Social Services, Cultural Resources, Business, Housing, and Legislature.
Her presentation, “Policy in American Genocide: How the United States Created Chaos for Its First Nations People,” will focus on the legacy of boarding schools and their role in eroding cultural identities.
This event will also delve into the intergenerational trauma caused by forced assimilation practices, the suppression of Indigenous languages and traditions, and the long-term impacts these policies have had on Native communities.
