About Tawonda Burks

Tawonda Burks is the founder of the Minority Owned Business Foundation, owner and publisher of Rochester Women Magazine, and owner of ELOCINA—consulting and financial literacy.

For more than a decade, Tawonda has worked at the intersection of business development, education, leadership, and community engagement. Through her work, she has helped entrepreneurs, professionals, and community members access resources, build connections, strengthen businesses, and create pathways to economic mobility.

Tawonda serves as a business consultant, educator, and speaker whose work focuses on the power of relationships, leadership, and opportunity creation. Her unique ability to connect people, organizations, and ideas has made her a trusted voice.

She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, where her research focuses on the experiences of entrepreneurs navigating business systems and opportunities.
