Earth Talks: The Curse of the Dinosaur Mummy
October 13 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Join the Geoscience Department for a discussion as part of the Earth Talks Speaker Series.
In this talk, “The Curse of the Dinosaur Mummy,” WSU Geoscience Professor Dr. W. Lee Beatty will discuss the discovery of a dinosaur “mummy” by a team of Winona State alumni and students in 2024.
The remarkably preserved skin of the Edmontosaurus fossil offers rare insights into dinosaur biology and evolution.
In 2026, the dinosaur mummy, still in its sandstone block, will arrive at its new home at Winona State, where it will be carefully prepared, studied, and put on display for students, researchers, and the community to experience firsthand.
Discover how such extraordinary fossils help bring prehistoric life into sharper focus.
