Watch and discuss how 5 comedies directed by Frank Capra used humor to reflect life during the Great Depression and World War II and why they’re relevant today.
Films include:
- “It Happened One Night” (1934)
- “Mr. Deeds Goes to Town” (1936)
- “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” (1939)
- “You Can’t Take It with You” (1938)
- “It’s a Wonderful Life” (1946)
Taught by Winona State Professor Emeritus David Robinson, this first session is located in Pasteur 237.
This Senior University class is 5 sessions total, and the course fee of $40 covers all 5 class meetings.
