Ethnic Studies Minor

The WSU Ethnic Studies program centers on the contributions and perspectives of various ethnic groups in the United States.

Through our program, students will examine social identities, political ideologies, and institutions using an intersectional approach. Students also pay special attention to understanding ethnicity, ethnic identities, and concepts of race.

Ethnic studies is essential in today’s diverse world, as many careers require the recognition of different perspectives, understanding of power relations, and willingness to create social transformation.

There are many majors that an Ethnic Studies minor suits well, including Finance, Nursing, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Education, History, or Communication Studies.
