Science & Engineering Academic Departments

The academic departments in the College of Science & Engineering are designed to prepare students for the professional world of STEM through our modern facilities, unique field experience opportunities, and dedicated professors.

Dean’s Welcome

In the College of Science & Engineering, students explore opportunities to enter a career in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

STEM classes challenge students to think critically, solve problems, and develop mental habits that will help them succeed in any field. Every major in the College of Science & Engineering teaches critical thinking and innovation.

We encourage our students to explore new ideas through challenging courses, distinctive experiences, and hands-on opportunities. STEM embraces the idea of coming up with solutions to unique problems.

STEM jobs are the future of our global economy. With a robust job market and solid wages, students will find exceptional opportunities to explore the world and become the next generation of innovators.

Teamwork and collaboration are key aspects of WSU’s STEM classes. Whether working together on a coding project, science lab, or engineering challenge, students develop interpersonal and professional communication skills that they’ll need in the workforce.

We’re a unique college filled with dedicated faculty and staff ready to help you find your path through research, labs, and hands-on opportunities and join the next generation of STEM leaders.
