History in the News

Winona State History students Maxwell Miller ’23 and Jessica Chacich ’23 traveled to major archives in Chicago and Washington, D.C., to research their senior capstone projects.

They explored topics like Alexander the Great’s lesser-known actions and the United States’ involvement in Chile’s 1973 coup.

Dr. Juandrea Bates presents to a History & Legal Studies classroom

Dr. Juandrea Bates, a History & Legal Studies professor at Winona State, created a course to explore how society has shaped kids’ lives over time.

Her students’ curiosity helped inspire her award-winning research on immigrant children in Argentina, showing how WSU turns classroom conversations into real-world impact.

Graduation Requirement

Aside from major- or minor-specific requirements, you’ll need to complete additional requirements through the General Education Program (GEP) to earn your degree from Winona State University.
