Why Study Creating Thriving Environments?

Many leadership programs emphasize management skills alone.

Creating Thriving Environments takes a different approach by helping participants understand the human factors that shape workplace culture and performance.

Developed in partnership with The Minnesota Group, this course helps you move from being trauma informed (or understanding the impact of trauma) to trauma responsive (or applying that knowledge through leadership practices and everyday interactions).

Throughout the course, you’ll participate in:

  • 4 live discussions featuring experienced facilitators and real-world leadership examples.
  • Self-paced learning modules that fit your schedule and reinforce key concepts.

When you complete this course, you’ll gain a toolkit of strategies that you can immediately apply to your workplace.

You’ll also earn the Creating Thriving Environments digital badge from Winona State University.

What Will You Learn?

In this course, you’ll learn how individual, systemic, and generational trauma can affect workplace experiences.

You’ll also:

  • recognize common trauma-related behaviors and workplace patterns.
  • distinguish between trauma-informed and trauma-responsive leadership.
  • build leadership practices that support employee well-being and resilience.
  • promote workplace policies and cultures that help people thrive.
  • develop self-care strategies that help prevent burnout and compassion fatigue.

Who Should Attend?

This course is for anyone who is responsible for supporting, leading, or developing others, including:

  • executives or administrators
  • supervisors and managers
  • team or non-profit leaders
  • human resources professionals
  • business owners and entrepreneurs
  • educators

No prior knowledge of trauma-informed leadership is required.

You’ll leave with practical strategies for strengthening workplace culture and leading with greater confidence.
