Become a K–grade 12 music teacher for a variety of areas—from concert, jazz, modern, and marching bands to orchestra, electronic music, and general music classrooms. This degree will also prepare you for a teaching license in instrumental music.

This program is accredited by the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.

From Practice Room to Classroom

Kennedi Kjellberg ’25 felt right at home from her first tour of Winona State, knowing it was the perfect place to grow as an Instrumental and Vocal Music Education double major.

Her time at WSU was filled with close friendships, personal growth, and unforgettable moments—like performing with the Wind Ensemble at a major music event in 2024.

Graduation Requirement

Aside from major- or minor-specific requirements, you’ll need to complete additional requirements through the General Education Program (GEP) to earn your degree from Winona State University.
