Leadership Education Student Resources

In addition to the wide range of support services for students, there are distance learning resources that you may find helpful as you pursue a graduate degree in the Leadership Education program. 

Planning for Graduation

Learn more about the steps you need to take to achieve your degree from the Leadership Education program. 

Master’s Degree

Meet with your assigned advisor to fill out the Application to Candidacy. This must be done before earning 16 graduate credits in the program.

After LDRS 618, students will enroll in either LDRS 619 or LDRS 699 depending upon whether they are completing a capstone (619) or a thesis (699).

Apply to take the comprehensive examination during the last term of your program. The Department Calendar lists dates and times of the upcoming comprehensive exams.

Apply to graduate during the first week of your last term.

Education Specialist Degree

Meet with your assigned advisor to fill out the Application to Candidacy. This must be done before earning 16 graduate credits in the program.

Follow your Candidacy Form and complete all courses listed.

An oral comprehensive examination will include a defense of your Field Study and your knowledge of coursework completed.

The Department Calendar lists dates and times of the upcoming comprehensive exams.

Apply to graduate during the first week of your last term. Make sure you’ve completed all required coursework.
