Mass Communication Program Admission
Apply for Bachelor’s Degree Programs
There is no formal application process to be accepted into the Mass Communication Department.
Undergraduate students can simply declare a major or minor to enroll in a Mass Communication program.
Apply for the Strategic Communication Master’s Program
You’ll complete one application to apply to Winona State Graduate Studies and the Strategic Communication master’s degree program at the same time.
Application Deadlines
We have 3 main deadlines for applications based on when you want to begin the program:
- Summer session: May 1
- Fall term: Aug. 1
- Spring term: Dec. 1
Application Materials
Within your online application, include the following items:
- Current resumé
- A written personal statement, no more than 2 pages in length, that:
- introduces yourself to the selection committee
- explains how your academic and career experiences shaped your desire for this graduate degree
- describes your post-graduation career goals or plans
- Contact information for 2 references. No letters of recommendation required.
How to Apply
Strategic Communication applicants should complete the general GradCAS application.
