Daniel Sheridan

Clarinetist Daniel Sheridan enjoys a multifaceted career as a solo recitalist, orchestral and chamber musician, and music educator. 

He holds degrees in Music Education and Clarinet Performance from Oklahoma State University, The University of Akron and The State University of New York at Stony Brook, where his primary teachers were Babette Belter, Håkan Rosengren, Alan Kay, and Daniel Gilbert.

As a solo recitalist, Dr. Sheridan has presented performances and masterclasses across the Midwest and Northeast and has also performed at The International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest.

As an orchestral musician, he currently performs as principal clarinetist with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra and Winona Symphony Orchestra, where he appeared as soloist in the Nielsen Clarinet Concerto in 2015 and the Mozart Clarinet Concerto in 2009. 

He has also performed with the:

• Wichita Falls Symphony
• South Bend Symphony
• Richmond Symphony
• Akron Symphony
• Cleveland Jazz Orchestra
• Tulsa Ballet Orchestra

He has also worked as a freelance musician on Long Island, New York.

Currently, Dr. Sheridan is in his fifteenth year on the music faculty at Winona State University, where he has also served as department chair. Prior to his appointment at WSU, he also served on the music faculties of: 

• Cameron University
• The University of Akron
• The College of Wooster
• The State University of New York at Stony Brook

He resides in Winona with his wife, Melanie, and their 6 children.
