Beyond the Classroom

Hear from Alumni

There were many classes that have had a lasting impact on my professional life, but the 2 that I reference most are Advertising Design and Studio Photography. Advertising Design taught me to generate ideas cohesively, and Studio Photography ignited my passion for the field—ultimately helping me secure a freelance gig with Banana Ball in St. Paul!
Tyler Gliem ’24 | Creative Digital Media major
This major gave me a strong foundation in the entire content creation process, from pre-production to wrap-up. It also taught me how to work with professional equipment and handle short turnaround times without compromising the quality. I use the skills I learned at Winona State every day.
Kaitlyn Wright ’24 | Creative Digital Media major
Forever grateful for the Creative Digital Media program and how it let me explore different interests that lead to passions.
Keaton Riebel ’24 | Creative Digital Media major
I was drawn to this program because of how unique and captivating the classes were. The most important skill I took away was the ability to think critically and creatively. Now in my current role, I still use what I learned about how to visually tell a story—it’s a soft skill that set me apart.
