Why Study Mass Communication at Winona State?

Every day, we’re surrounded by messages.

From social media and websites to videos and TV to newspapers and more.

Mass communication is the process of creating and sharing those messages with lots of people.

It’s how we learn what’s going on in the world, stay connected with each other, and share ideas.

The Mass Communication minor at Winona State offers an overview of advertising, digital media, and public relations.

You’ll learn how different media influence people.

You could find yourself developing a podcast, designing a brand campaign, or capturing the perfect photo.

You might even get hands-on experience using cameras, editing software, and professional studios.

This minor is a great way to add creative and strategic experience to any major. Communication skills are useful in nearly every career.

That’s why the Mass Communication minor will help you stand out.

You’ll graduate with a creative portfolio and greater confidence in your voice and ideas.

This program is available through the Communication & Media Department.

What Will You Learn as a Mass Communication Minor?
