Equity & Inclusive Excellence Resources for Faculty & Staff
All faculty and staff can use these resources to help our institution more equitable for all.
In addition, take a look at the student resources. This will help you be more informed and better able to connect students with resources they may need.
Equity 2023 Resources
Equity 2030 Collective Action resources are currently being developed for WSU faculty and staff.
Contact the Equity & Inclusive Excellence team to learn how to use these resources and implement recommendations.
All faculty are encouraged to put these statements on their class syllabi to demonstrate their commitment to equity.
WSU recognizes that our individual differences can deepen our understanding of one another and the world around us, rather than divide us.
In this class, people of all ethnicities, genders, religions, ages, sexual orientations, disabilities, socioeconomic backgrounds, regions, and nationalities are strongly encouraged to share their rich array of perspectives and experiences.
If you feel your differences may in some way isolate you from WSU’s community or if you have a need of any specific accommodations, please speak with the instructor early in the semester about your concerns and what we can do together to help you become an active and engaged member of our class and community.
To receive disability related accommodations and/or auxiliary aids, students with disabilities must contact Access Services as soon as possible by calling 507.4557.5878 or emailing access@winona.edu.
College Liaisons
The Equity & Inclusive Excellence staff also serve as liaisons to the academic colleges.
They can help you respond to retention concerns and other issues, as well as offer guidance for recruitment outreach to attract new students.
Safe Space Training
Safe Space Training is a campus-wide program hosted by the Equity & Inclusive Excellence Office and Full Spectrum Student Alliance to create an inclusive and affirmative University community.
With Safe Space training, you can learn to be more intentional about creating spaces that are welcoming to everyone –especially for students, faculty, and staff who identify as LGBTQIA+.
The Safe Space Training Registration Form has upcoming dates, or you can request a private group training.
You can also email at equity@winona.edu for more information.
