COMTEC

The WSU Composite Materials Engineering Department operates the Composite Materials Technology Center (COMTEC) to foster interaction within the industry and enhance engineering education.

COMTEC is staffed by engineering students who work under the supervision of the COMTEC Director.

Since its beginning in 1987, COMTEC has successfully undertaken hundreds of projects for many local and national companies within and beyond the composites industry.

Services

COMTEC leverages the facilities, equipment, and expertise resident in the Composite Materials Engineering Department. They provide the following services to industry:

• Design and analysis, material characterization, testing, and prototype manufacturing
• Workshops on topics of interest to industry
• Customized training designed to satisfy the specific needs of industry customers
