Mental Health Services

Any current student at WSU, WSU-Rochester, or MN State Southeast can make an appointment with Counseling Services.

Find the mental health services that work best for you–whether that’s working with a counselor, attending one of our events, or learning skills through the resources offered.

Individual Counseling

By talking to a counselor one-on-one in a safe, confidential space, you can learn ways to cope with life’s challenges and resolve personal concerns.

The counselors are ready to help with a variety of concerns including:

  • adjusting to college
  • family and relationship concerns
  • stress
  • grief
  • depression
  • anxiety
  • other mental health challenges

Counselors are not able to provide documentation for emotional support animals.

You won’t be billed for counseling services. This support service is included in student fees.

We provide short-term counseling. If you and the counselor decide you may need more frequent care, we can help refer you to a counselor in the community.

If you are working with an off-campus therapist, we are not be able to provide counseling sessions in order to provide you the best ethical care and allocate appointments to more students. You are still encouraged to access to our crisis services at any time.

We are glad to meet with you if you’re considering transferring your care to one of our counselors.

Crisis Counseling

If you feel you’re in a mental health crisis, a WSU counselor is available Monday – Friday from 12pm-3:30pm.

If you need an immediate response outside of these hours, please contact the appropriate emergency services
