Outdoor Spaces

The Gazebo, Courtyard, and Indigenous Learning Garden are located in the center of Main Campus.

With free wi-fi across campus, students are always connected. You can do what you need to do wherever you want to be without sacrificing good service.

Gazebo
The Gazebo is the heart of Winona State.

Here students can meet up with friends and take part in events, from club fairs and pep rallies to research projects and performances.

The Gazebo is also the perfect backdrop for selfies and group photos year-round.

The gazebo is decorated with lights and garland in the winter.

WSU Letters
Within a few steps of the Gazebo are “WSU” block letters that an alum donated. It’s another great photo op to show your Warrior Pride.

Fire Feature Patio

Between the Courtyard and Kryzsko Commons is the Fire Feature Patio.

Students can study, socialize, and roast s’mores throughout the year.

WSU’s outdoor spaces offer students places to relax, study, eat, & take pictures no matter the season.

Courtyard
The Courtyard features lots of green space perfect for lounging and studying.

Plants and trees native to Minnesota surround the Courtyard. These plants and trees are marked with a QR code to provide more info to curious visitors.

Winona State received the Tree Campus Higher Ed award for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation with our landscape arboretum.

Students hang out in groups around the courtyard on a summer day.

Indigenous Learning Garden

The Indigenous Learning Garden is located next to the Performing Arts Center and is part of the on-campus Arboretum.

Here students can acknowledge and respect the culture, traditions, and history of the Indigenous peoples.

This garden of diverse flora demonstrates WSU’s commitment to building relationships with the sovereign nations and peoples of the Dakota.
