Kryzsko Commons
Kryzsko Commons Student Union is located in the southwest corner of Main Campus between Gildemeister Hall and Minné Hall.
Kryzsko Commons Student Union hosts many campus events and features a variety of offices, resource centers, study lounges, and dining facilities.
Dining Services & Retail
WSU’s main dining facilities are both located in Kryzsko Commons, providing students, faculty, and staff with plenty of options for meals and snacks.
This is students’ go-to space for general questions about campus, lost and found items, and borrowing free resources like a bike, recreation equipment, and games.
This is a safe space for all students to learn about others’ identities and their own.
KEAP Diversity Resource CenterBetween the Courtyard and Kryzsko Commons is the Fire Feature Patio.
Students can study, socialize, and roast s’mores throughout the year.
Lounges & Study Rooms
The Kryzsko Commons Student Union includes several lounges and study rooms.
There are also booths, tables, and chairs for both hanging out and studying.
The Baldwin Lounge is a hangout space equipped with tables and chairs for students to relax or work on assignments, plus a wall of windows for natural light.
Students can reserve private study rooms with whiteboards and screensharing monitors for themselves or a small group.
Located in the middle of the building, there are seating areas with soft seats, tables and chairs alongside power outlets and large windows for natural light.
Students can watch or play games like Super Smash Bros and Minecraft on high-quality PCs, Nintendo Switches, and TVs.
Esports LoungeMeetings & Events
Kryzsko Common offers a variety of meeting spaces and conference rooms with flexible setup options for events such as:
- Performances
- Celebrations
- Cultural events
- Trainings
- Fairs
All WSU students, faculty, and staff can reserve these spaces at no cost. However, non-profit organizations and other businesses are charged for reserving these meeting spaces.
Everyone who uses this facility is expected to abide by the Kryzsko Commons policies.
The Kryzsko Ballroom is located on the upper level.
This space is used to host large meetings and events, such as banquets, presentations, and speakers.
The Solarium is also on the upper level.
This area is used to host large gatherings and features a wall of windows for natural light.
Near the Kryzsko Ballroom and Solarium are 3 Oak Rooms.
These rooms are used to host medium- to large-sized events, as the rooms can combine into a bigger space.
The Baldwin Lounge is above the WSU Bookstore.
This space is used for hangouts, studying, and hosting large gatherings.
Near the Baldwin Lounge are 3 Purple Rooms
These rooms are used to host medium- to large-sized events, as the rooms can combine into a bigger space.
Kryzsko Common has 5 conference rooms on both levels.
These rooms can seat up to 18 people and provide screensharing capabilities. Two rooms feature built-in video-conferencing capabilities.
The Student Activity Center is located on the lower level.
This space is used to host large events.
Surrounding the Zane’s Food Court on the lower level is a stage and extensive seating area.
This space is used to host jazz performances, karaoke, and other events.
Departments & Offices
The Student Union & Activities Office supports events and programs for students including the Warrior Entertainment Network, Student Senate, and fraternities and sororities.
This office also oversees building operations and event coordination in Kryzsko Common Student Union.
Students can make the most of their time at Winona State by living on campus.
With our residence hall and amenities, students can also meet lifelong friends, be close to campus activities, join study sessions, and enjoy the benefits of great meal options.
Chartwells is WSU’s campus food service provider.
Chartwells staff serve food and beverages at Zane’s Food Court in Kryzsko Commons and at the campus library café.
Chartwells staff also help with catering for informal and formal events on campus.
The Dean of Students serves as a strong advocate for students and helps maintain a safe and inclusive campus, manage university conduct policies, and promote student rights and responsibilities.
The Office of Equity & Inclusive Excellence supports students of all backgrounds.
This office offers scholarships, outreach programs, cultural clubs, guest speakers, and other activities to help make Winona State more inclusive, diverse, and accessible.
Student Senate is an elected group that represents all students in university decisions and initiatives.
Students can bring concerns or ideas for improvement to Student Senate and run for office to gain leadership experience.
The Warrior Entertainment Network is WSU’s event planning committee.
This is a student-led organization that puts together events for students on campus, in Winona, and beyond.
The Winonan is WSU’s student newspaper.
Students can stay updated on campus news, and they can share their voice as a journalist, editor, or photographer on the paper’s staff.
